Zero Tolerance For Domestic Abusers In Public Office
– FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
COLUMBUS, OH — The Libertarian Party of Ohio (LPO) unequivocally demands the immediate resignation of Representative Max Miller from the United States House of Representatives, serving Ohio’s 7th Congressional District. Recent court filings and police reports revealing detailed, credible allegations of domestic violence, including physical assault and brandishing a firearm, demonstrate a severe breach of public trust and fundamental human rights.
The core of the Libertarian philosophy rests upon the Non-Aggression Principle: no individual or government entity has the right to initiate force or violence against another. As an organization dedicated to protecting individual liberty, human dignity, and personal accountability, the LPO will not tolerate domestic abusers holding political power, wielding authority, or representing the people of Ohio.
“Public service is a privilege, not an entitlement,” said Cassaundra Fryman/Political Director, LPO. “When an elected official is credibly accused of terrorizing family members behind closed doors, they lose all moral authority to govern or legislate over others. Max Miller’s continued presence in Congress dishonors the district he was elected to serve and sends a dangerous message that powerful politicians are immune to basic standards of conduct.”
The allegations surrounding Representative Miller reflect a disturbing pattern that goes far beyond partisan politics. Ohioans in the 7th District deserve an elected official who respects individual rights both in the halls of Congress and within their own home.
The Libertarian Party of Ohio calls on Representative Max Miller to step down immediately. Should he refuse to resign, we urge his colleagues in Congress to take immediate disciplinary action and initiate a full ethics investigation.
