Job Responsibilities

  • Recruit candidates for office and regularly meet or surpass our contact targets
  • Research potential candidates to gain insight into needs, beliefs and past races to understand how to position them in the best race
  • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to recruit candidates for our organization
  • Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve candidate recruiting activities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating candidate recruiting and training events and coordinate actives of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
  • Create training materials, like pamphlets and presentations, to be used for training events
  • Analyze the performance of events and other recruiting activities for effectiveness and to identify areas of improvement
  • Maintain complete and orderly records of candidates and potential candidates and manage regular communications using an existing CRM
  • Supervise the 5 Assistant Deputies in charge of the 5 regions of Ohio for candidate recruiting
  • Collaborate with County Affiliates and CDG's to build partnerships and enhance candidate training and recruiting activities

The Central Committee consists of two (2) members from each Congressional District. Four (4) of the members are elected as the Central Committee officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer).  The Central Committee is similar to a corporation’s board of directors and elects the Executive Committee (Officers in the corporate world) who are responsible for day to day operations of the Party.

Requirements

  • All Committee members must be Supporting Members of the Party as defined in Article II Section 1 of the LPO Constitution.
  • All Committee members shall be a resident and qualified elector of the district from which they are elected.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend all meetings of the Central Committee (Typically three a year)
  • Participate in between meeting business on-line as defined in our SOP's
  • Attend the LPO State Convention when held in even number years.
  • Represent the Libertarians of your district to the LPO

The IT Director is focused on the acquisition, development, maintenance, and integration of technology infrastructure. This includes the functionality of the website(s), database(s), phone system(s), any Party-owned technology deployed in the field, and any other technology needed for Party operations. The IT Director will also create and manage an IT budget, and review and change the division’s organizational structure and/or members as needed, in order to meet Party goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Contributing member of the National LP
  • Member of the State LP
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent industry experience (6+ years) in IT systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
  • Excellent communication, writing, & organization skills
  • Team builder and team player
  • Assertive & persistent
  • Reliable hard-wire Internet access
  • Smartphone with unlimited data access
  • Personal laptop and reliable mobile internet access
  • Attend weekly or bi-weekly Director conference calls (weekday evenings or weekends)
  • Attend periodic Executive Committee meetings (typically in Columbus on Saturdays)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the currently in-use technology solutions of the Party
  • Operational experience with IT in highly regulated (HIPAA/HITECH, PCI-DSS, DoD, ITAR, etc.) environments
  • Database, email server, website design, development, and management experience
  • Previous experience with building an IT organization
  • Budgeting experience
