About the Candidates
About Jason Stoops
I am Jason Stoops, a lifelong Wilmington resident and downtown property owner running for City Council-at-Large. I am directly invested in our communityโs future and believe government must serve people, not itself. My priorities are clear: protect individual freedoms, stop selective code enforcement, control wasteful spending, and promote pro-business growth through fair zoning and real downtown revitalization. Guided by Libertarian principles, I will work to restore transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility in city government. I am not a career politician, but a neighbor committed to ensuring Wilmington thrives with freedom and fairness at its core.

About Steven Salander
I am a current city council member for the city of Oregon Ohio. I am running for Mayor of Oregon against a 16 year incumbent. I am running to bring fairness and accountability to our city. The time is now for a community focused administration to move the focus outward and begin by focusing on the basic services such as infrastructure and serving our citizens. We have had a spending problem for the last 16 years. And we need fiscal responsibility to really show who Oregon is, and be a leader in our region that I know we can be. Together.

About Ron Grethel
Hello my name is Ron Grethel, I am running to represent Ohio District 62. I am a husband of 11 years and proud father of 3 daughters, rooted in Loveland, Ohio, where I bought my childhood home to raise my family. I earned my bachelorโs degree in Political Science from Xavier University before serving 8 years as an Air Defense Artillery officer in the Ohio Army National Guard, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Iโm a veteran that understands discipline, service, and sacrifice. After my service, I built a career in the insurance industry and transitioned from claims to technology as a programmer.
I am running to protect our republic with the same logic I once used to defend soldiers and secure systems, ensuring Ohio remains by the people and for the people, not dominated by big government or crony capitalism.

About Justin Peroli
Hi, Iโm Justin Peroli โ husband, dad to two great boys, accidental pack leader of seven rescue dogs and one bossy cat, small business owner, and current Lafayette Township Trustee. Iโve spent my career solving problems, not creating them, and thatโs exactly how I believe government should work.ย
I believe the best government is the one that governs the least โ one that respects your rights, protects your freedom, and spends your tax dollars like theyโre its own (because they should be treated that way). I donโt think people need more laws, more bureaucracy, or more interference from Columbus to live good, honest, productive lives. What we need is room to breathe, the freedom to choose, and a government humble enough to know its limits.ย
Iโm running for State Representative because I believe Ohio deserves leaders who trust its people more than its politicians. My promise is simple: less red tape, more accountability, and a lot more common sense.ย
Freedom works โ and together, we can prove it right here in the 66th District.
